Frisco ISD has once again earned a "Superior" rating through the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.  This is a designation that the distict has successfully held since 2001 and is based on annual financial reports provided to TEA as they regulary audit each district and charter in the state. Ratings area established based on 20 financial indicators such as operating expenses, tax collection rates, student-to-teacher ratios and a district's amount of debt.

This designation was created by the Texas Education Administration 13 years ago to encourage public schools to better manage their money and resources and provide maximum educational experiences for the children in their district with their allocations.  There are a total of 4

At a meeting Monday night (Sept. 10, 2014), Frisco Independent School District and its trustees approved the construction and costs involved with building and opening its 9th High School.  Timelines for other additional school buildings such as an additional elementary school above what was previously planned were accellerated as Frisco is expected to hit a population of over 50,000 by the end of the 2014-15 school.

The new elementary school, which will be Frisco ISD's 38th elementary school, will relieve crowding at Ashley Elementary which was closed to new students prior to the beginning of this current school year.  This school will be named Norris Elementary.

The newly approved high school will be located next to the Frisco ISD administration

The second annual Collin County Fall Home and Garden Show returns this weekend to the Allen Events Center, located at 200 East Stacy Road, in Allen.

The home features topics such as landscaping, over 250 home improvement vendors, remodeling, arts and crafts.  Wayde King and Brett Waymar from Animal Planet will be live and in person and discussing creative fish tanks for the home.  Other highlights include food trucks, a pet zone, a kids zone, and prize give-aways.

Saturday, September 13, from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 14, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
